Give Dad something he has always wanted. No more knick-knacks and unwanted ties.
Every year Father’s Day rolls around and I struggle with what to get my dad. He’s not particularly picky, but if he wants something, he usually buys it for himself. Thanks Dad, that doesn’t help me. So for the last few years, I’ve had to get creative and think outside the box for gift ideas. In my search for latest, coolest gift ideas, I’ve come across some amazing gifts that I know any dad would love.
Here’s my list of fun gift ideas for dad. You can thank me later. =)
The Dad-To-Be: The Expectant Father: The Ultimate Guide for Dads-to-Be by Armin A. Brott and Jennifer Ash. As an ultimate guide to new fatherhood, this book will help dad-to-be navigate his way through impending parenthood with humor and confidence. And if you want him super prepared, check out The New Father book too!
The Military Style Dad: OMG! When I saw this bag I wanted it so bad. The New Dad Tactical Bag is perfect for the military dad who thinks carrying a girly diaper bag is a drag. This ‘tactical bag’ is a father’s dream! It’s packed with fun items and don’t forget to add a Baby Owner’s Manual so dad will know exactly what to do when mom isn’t around.
The Beer Man: If Dad is a beer connoisseur, how about a craft beer subscription box. Actually, I was considering one for myself. Make it a one time thing or a monthly gift that he will absolutely love! Alternatively, check out a local brewery gift idea too. Did you know that the average American lives within 10 miles of a brewery? I didn’t know that either. Make it a date night and drop off the kids at grandma’s house on the way out.
The Wine Guy: See if your local area has any wineries. Groupon and LivingSocial are great for finding winery tastings nearby with savings! If there aren’t any nearby, Club W is a personalized wine subscription service. You fill out a short survey and get recommended wines to suit your palate. Choose 3 and get them shipped straight to your door!
The Music Man: Rejoice at the sight of this U-Turn Audio Turntable. One of the coolest, unique gift ideas I’ve come across. And the best part about U-Turn is that their products are made right here in the USA. The vinyl record industry is making a comeback. #Truth. Visit your local record store to pick up the latest release from Dad’s favorite band, or scour the bargain bins for old-school steals. Not into vinyl, but still a music lover? What about tickets to a show? Take him to see a local band or a summer music festival. No matter what you do, enjoy the Daddy/Daughter Day and make memories that last a lifetime.
The Sports Fan: You can never go wrong with tickets to see his favorite team. My father-in-law is a huge Yankees fan – we are NOT – but my husband bought a Yankees World Series shadow box filled with ticket stubs from years of the Yankee’s making it to a championship game. It was a very cool, unique gift that ‘ol Jack loved. When all else fails, Dad is sure to appreciate some awesome new apparel that is always worth personalizing.
The Fitness Father: Is dad focusing on health this year? Get him the Fitbit Alta, a super cool activity tracker that you wear like a watch. Perhaps he could use a pair of sports headphones that he will love during his morning run. And of course, don’t forget to upgrade his footwear for those hardcore, Crossfit workouts.
The Tech-Savvy Dad: The 94fifty basketball satisfies the athletic man and the tech guy all in one. This basketball comes with a smart sensor and tracks his every shot. It’s a personal coach in your pocket that connects over bluetooth and an app for your iOS or Android device. The ball is a little pricey, but if your dad is committed to improving his game and loves technology, this is worth the investment.
The Sentimental Dad: My father is not sentimental, but a lot of men are, believe it or not. If your dad enjoys personalized gifts and crafty tools try etsy.com to satisfy his soft side.
There you have it. Lots of ideas for any type of dad or father in your life. I hope you find the gift you’re looking for this Father’s Day.
