Our Five Favorite Things from the 2017 WOW Summit

WOW Summit

Our community of moms gathers at the WOW Summit each year seeking inspiration, connection, and new ways to raise their families to be happy and healthy. This years’ event on October 13-14 in Itasca, Illinois sure did not disappoint. As our biggest WOW Summit yet, with more sponsors, speakers, and attendees than ever,  we’re left wondering just how we’ll top it next year. While we decompress from the Mom event of the year, let’s take a look back at our favorite highlights from this year’s WOW Summit.

1. The Expert Insight Shared Through the Blogger Workshops

We still can’t get over how amazing the workshops were across both days this year. On Friday, affiliate marketing maven Carolina King shared her tips with bloggers on how to best generate income from their blog. Attendees were also given a peek behind the curtain at what brands look for when choosing influencers in a workshop given by Barbara Roll of DERMA E. Saturday’s educational workshops were just as impressive. Moms were given the chance to make DIY products (we can still smell the Lavender Cedar Scrub from here), learn how to feed their picky eaters, along with so much more. The talent and lessons shared from all of our expert speakers were top notch.

2. A Darn Good Meal at the table5 Pizza Party

The table5 pizza crew not only brought the delicious pizza for our Blogger-to-Blogger Networking Lunch, but they also brought the fun and carried the good times through the whole weekend. Their crispy and craveable cornmeal crust pizza was a huge hit with all who grabbed a slice or two (or three!) at Friday’s lunch. Luckily, for all those wanting more, table5 continued the party in Exhibit Hall all weekend, where they served up tasty pie after tasty pie to hungry attendees.

3. Acknowledgement and Camaraderie at the Balancing Work and Motherhood Panel

Full of accomplished female professionals, including our own CEO Maxine Wolf, this panel broke down the barriers between the corporate and parenting worlds to share the truths that many working mothers face. It would be impossible to leave this talk without feeling supported, connected, and reinvigorated to take on all that motherhood and a career ask of you.

4. The Energy Levels in Exhibit Hall Were Through the Roof

This space was full of life and laughter from the moment it opened on Friday until the time the last vendor left on Saturday. The community spirit, together with friendly brand reps, and an abundance of free samples, elevated the energy of the Exhibit Hall beyond what normally transpires at trade shows. It was apparent from your first step into the pavilion that both brands and moms were thoroughly enjoying each other’s company.

5. Our First Ever Full Day of Bloggers

Due to popular demand, we expanded our Blogger event to a full day. From morning to night, Friday was jam-packed with educational workshops, inspiring—and at times, hilarious—panel discussions, and so much networking. Our bloggers loved getting to know each other and getting to network in depth with brands. We ended the day with a cocktail party where bloggers got to let their hair down and enjoy mingling with brand representatives and the Moms Meet staff.

We want to thank all our amazing attendees who joined us for this fun-filled weekend in the Midwest. We hope to see you all at our future events, including the 2018 Moms Meet WOW Summit, which will take place in Anaheim, CA on November 2-3. Only 358 days to go!!
