From Two to Three…

Note from Chief Mom Ambassador | July 6, 2015

Olivia-smileI truly feel blessed. On May 4, our little baby girl Olivia Ann was born. She was the perfect size at 7 pounds and 7 ounces and had the most beautiful face (I know, I’m a bit biased). My children were completely obsessed with their new baby sister—both of them asking to hold and kiss the baby all the time.

There was a particularly funny moment when my three year-old son, Connor, met Olivia for the first time at the hospital. He declared, “My like her. My want to bring her home. Can we keep her mama?” as if he had just seen a puppy that he wanted to bring home as a pet. We all had a good laugh about that!

I’ve had many people ask me what it has been like going from two children to three. Honestly, it has been challenging at times, but not as bad as I thought. It certainly helped that Olivia basically slept through her first six weeks of life, only waking up to eat and then falling right back asleep.

This gave me plenty of one-on-one time with Connor, which was absolutely precious and much needed. My eight year-old, Ella, has been a tremendous help to me as well, from holding the baby while I take a quick shower to helping out with Connor.

Life with three children may be a bit more chaotic than before. But there is also more love and joy to go around than ever before, and I wouldn’t trade that in a million years.
