St. Patrick’s Day Family Fun

Family Fun & Activities, Food & Recipes, Holidays & Parties | February 23, 2021

St. Patrick’s Day is almost here and we know a lot of our moms are looking for interactive ways to celebrate the holiday. Why not make a family fun day out of it? Here are six engaging—and creative—ideas on how to spend your day!

Play Tic-Tac-St.Pat

It’s a festive twist on a classic game! You’ll even have the chance to craft the board and pieces as a family. Feel free to modify the instructions to use items you already have around the house. You can even keep the game board for next year! Click here for instructions.

Turn Veggies Into Stamps

Dipping the top half of peppers into paint creates a clover shape that can be used to make a design on any piece of cloth or paper you have around the house! Jazz up that reusable grocery bag or string together old cardboard boxes to create a St. Patrick’s Day banner to hang on your wall. The possibilities are endless! Click here for instructions.

Get Cooking

Who doesn’t crave some Shepherd’s Pie on St. Patrick’s Day? Plus, it’s a great way to get your kids to eat their veggies! We have vegetable, turkey and vegan options that can please almost any household. Check out the recipe here.

Make Your Own St. Patrick’s Day Clothing

No need to buy expensive St. Patrick’s Day gear at the store! Instead, search your house for unused or unwanted green items. Take scissors and cut out different patterns associated with the holiday, including leprechauns, clovers and pots of gold. Then find ways to attach your creations to your clothing! You may want to get stencils to make the cut outs easier, but it might be more fun to wing it and laugh about the funny designs you come up with! Need some inspiration? Try this stencil shirt project!

Color For Luck

Mom Blogger Lauren shared Irish coloring pages on her blog! She invites you and your “little leprechaun” to color pages hand-drawn by her husband, which includes a pot of gold, a “Kiss Me I’m Irish” frog, a four leaf clover, and a lucky penguin! Click here to download the coloring pages.

We hope you have a great, fun-filled day! How are you celebrating St. Patrick’s Day?
