  • Gloria Pan, Moms Rising

We try to ensure that our children have everything they need - from the food they eat, to the clothes they wear, to the schools they attend. It's our responsibility to make sure they feel safe, comfortable, loved, and nourished, mentally, physically, and emotionally.

The harsh reality is that today's world is full of people, events and other factors that profoundly impact our kids' well-being. Many, if not all of these factors are beyond our individual control. We live in a world where women are still paid less than men for the same work, even though many of us are earning the primary household income. We have to choose between a paycheck, or taking time off to care for our sick kids, we live where drinking water may be laced with lead, and where worry paralyzes us with the pervasiveness of firearms.

This talk will examine critical issues impacting children and families in today's America and why moms must stand up and fight for the change our kids need. It's only together that we can fight this battle and win!

How do we turn the tide back to give our kids the freedom and responsibility most of us remember so fondly?

Lenore Skenazy, the brilliant and hilarious founder of Free Range Kids who was also once named the "World's Worst Mom", will teach us how to provide children with freedom and independence without living in constant fear. Learn what you can do to build safe, confident, independent children who are ready to solve their own problems.
