My baby is 7 weeks old and I started out breast feeding I ended up in the hospital for about a week ina half and stopped due to meds and things and switched to formula he is having a terrible time I started with regular formula and switched to sensitive due to what seemed to be stomachaches and throwing up still throwing up then constipation started so switched him to alimentum he was still having the same symptoms after two weeks time so I switched him to acid reflux formula he has been doing pretty good with for a week until now his poop is very hard and he strained so much he has blood in his stool I’m not sure what to do now the doctor is expensive so I’m trying not to go in unless need be has anyone had these problems?
It sounds like he is dehydrated. If you don’t want to see your doctor, is there a provider that your insurance will cover? Nutrition is very important, even if it costs money to see your doctor
So I too thing he is dehydrated. I completely understand that the cost of a visit is really high. But in my area we have a hospital line called ASK A Nurse. It’s completely free and confidential and you get to talk to a RN. You would be able to explain the situation and they might have a few ideas on things you can try at home that might help. Otherwise, possible call your Doctors office and ask to speak to the nurse. Again they might be able to offer ideas to help without having to go in.
Sorry I can’t help more but when it comes to itty bitty kiddos I don’t like to offer my home remedies. Too many things unknown
This is serious.
