Anything good you’ve read recently or any books that you highly recommend? I’m an avid book reader. Would love suggestions! I go to the library almost weekly. 🙂

I can recommend a fun book if you want to have some giggles while reading a novel by Maria Semple called Where’d You Go Bernadette. The author has written episodes for Arrested Development, Mad About You and Ellen, she received starred reviews from Publishers Weekly , Los Angeles Times, Family Circle and the Washington Post to name a few. She has since moved from LA to Seattle where her 2nd novel takes place, I got all this info off her Amazon review BTW.
But I really liked the book, it was very entertaining and fun to get away from the mean ole world for a bit.
If you can recommend anything for me I would like that.

Oh, awesome! Thanks for the recommendation, Shelly! I’ll have to check it out. If you haven’t read any of these, I can recommend all the Game of Thrones books. Don’t know if you’re a fan. I definitely am & I think they’re excellent. I also like to read a lot of true crime books. They are always interesting. Currently I’m reading a biography about Fred Rogers called “The Good Neighbor”. It’s pretty hard to put down. I was always a big Mr. Rogers fan. If you were to, it’s definitely worth a read. 🙂

Mangofreako, Have you read any other books by the same author that wrote Bernadette? I think I may have, if not I will. I will check my reading list on the Kindle. I’ve burned through one Kindle and on my second, hopefully this one will last a bit longer than the first. I love having a book available at all times.

I haven’t had time to do my nightly reading for a few weeks because schedules are just nuts and leave me exhausted. But, the last one I finished was The Dream Daughter. I wasn’t sure how I was going to like it because many have claimed it was like the Time Traveler’s Wife, and all I could think of was the disappointment from that and the movie. However; I was pleasantly surprised that it kept my attention and I found myself torn at different moments in support and in criticism of the characters. It’s a great tie in with some historical events and really puts into perspective how rapidly technology is changing too. Ultimately loose ends are tied and everyone is happy and healthy – so I suppose its a ‘feel good’ story. Worth a read for sure – and it’s a quick read too.

Another good book is THE SHACK it was made into a movie which in my opinion are never as good as the book but that’s just mine. I couldn’t get past the first half hour of the movie, I turned it off after paying for it.
    One of my favorite books.
Thanks for the recommendations, will give it a try, I too have been working OT and can barely keep my eyes open to drive home. Hard to get reading in, almost don’t even want to shower and eat, ewe. teehee. Well always have time for something sweet but just don’t want to cook a descent meal, you get it?
