Personally, I am not a fan of using OFF! because of all the chemicals they use :/ Some natural alternatives are lemon and eucalyptus! A good brand for that is the Repel. Let me know if there are other alternatives that you guys use!

I’m also looking for natural alternatives. Ticks are terrible this season and I want to keep my kids safe!

I make my own repellent by mixing citronella, lemon eucalyptus, lavender, rosemary, and peppermint essential oils with rubbing alcohol; witch hazel; vinegar or water; and a little vegetable glycerin. I typically spray our clothes instead of putting it directly on our skin though. I also buy some dollar store braided fabric bracelets, spray them, and wha-la…insect repellent bracelets for us to wear.

To help repel ticks when we go camping, a few weeks before we go, I mix apple cider vinegar with dried rosemary, lavender, sage, thyme, and mint. Then dilute in spray bottle with water after straining the herbs out.

Another thing I do, instead of throwing the herbs out, I use them to make little sachets to place around our tents/camping area. To do this, I just use small plastic bags like earrings might come in and open them or poke little holes in them only when we’re ready to use them. Cheesecloth will work also, just keep it sealed until you’re ready to use.
