What age do you think is old enough for summer camp?
depends on the camp. if overnight, follow their minimum age. if day camp, follow their minimum age.
About 10 years old in my opinion….
depends on the camp AND your child. How long is the camp? Does your child want to go? Will there be a friend there?
Depends on the camp and the child. My son attended school based day camps during the summer starting at K, but I think over night camps are best for older children
i think 10+ is a good age, IMO
My oldest daughter went to overnight camp at age 6, my younger one is 7 and was supposed to go this summer but we had a huge storm and I kept her home, will try again next summer. I think it depends on the child.
My son stayed at camp for the first time when was 8. It was a camp he had gone to several times with my family. He also went with many kids he knew. I know some of the girls missed their parents and struggled with it but were able to get over it. My son is now 11 and has gone to a camp every year since. He loves it, but he always has adjusted well.
I would say it depends on both of your comfort levers. The camp he went to was for a week, but I wrote him letters, and in the middle of the week parents were able to come visit.
Like I said, I think it depends on both of your comfort levels and how far and long.
Depend on kid
